Celebrities that have lost weight and kept it off
We regularly see celebrities in magazines and on the TV and wonder how they’ve managed to trim down over such a short period of time. Here’s some of the most impressive weight loss stories – big and small – that we thought we’d look into and share their secrets.
Dropping from 11 stone to 8 and a half stone, you can’t deny that Charlotte looks incredible post-weight loss. She hired personal trainer to the stars, David Souter, to help get her into shape and over the course of three and a half months Charlotte lost two and a half stone. Her workouts included 12 rounds of 3x minute rounds of a boxing workout, high-intensity interval training & combat and a clean eating diet of eggs, protein, meat, veg, yoghurt and fruit.
‘Charlotte Crosby’s 3 minute belly blitz’ was announced as the #1 fitness DVD on Amazon’s best-seller list for 2015, and rumour has it she has another coming out in 2016.
Whilst Sam didn’t have a lot of excess weight to lose, when he turned to the book ‘Eat Nourish Glow’ we couldn’t help but notice that he was losing weight and looked good for it – even if he does look like a completely different person. Losing 14lbs over 14 days isn’t particularly advised, it’s better to lose it slowly over a period of time, reducing the risks of you putting it all straight back on should you eat naughtily, but if it works for Sam then we’re sure it’s going to inspire many others.
When Khloe came onto our screens with ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’, she was admittedly the curvier of the sisters, but recently she’s admitted to losing two and a half stone, and boy does she look better and happier for it.
Revealing all in her new book, ‘Strong Looks Better Naked’, Khloe has disclosed what she eats on an average day and the gruelling exercise regimes that she puts her body through, including drinking water & black coffee as early as 5am, working out for 2 hours first thing in the morning, and eating meals of Chinese salad and steamed vegetables with fish.
Being a big snacker, which I’m sure many of us can relate to, Khloe ensures that she has pre-cut fruit and veg to hand at all times should she get hungry, in order to keep her body satisfied and not return to her unhealthy relationship with food where she ate out of boredom or unhappiness.
We all came to know who Jonah Hill was after his cracking performance in Superbad bad in 2007, and he’s since gone on to star in a number of amazing films, including 21 Jump Street with Channing Tatum! Bursting on to our scenes as a “plump” funny-man, Jonah wanted to lose weight in order to appear more mature and visited a nutritionist in order to determine what he needed to cut out, in terms of food and drink, in order to lose weight.
Unfortunately for Jonah he wanted a way to eat and drink clean, whilst still drinking beer, but the nutritionist told him he’d have to cut beer out regardless. After losing over two and a half stone by cutting out beer and eating a lot of Japanese food, Jonah admits that when he does drink beer he does notice a weight gain, but is getting back on plan in order to keep the weight down.
Starting out at 20 stone, Josie is well known for being the “curvy” girl on Big Brother, but if you search her online you won’t be looking at images of the girl you once knew – Josie has dropped an incredible five dress sizes and is now a petite size 10. Her weight loss over 12 months equated to a whopping six stone.
Josie’s fitness DVD, ‘Josie Gibson’s 30 seconds slim’, is made of up three 20 minute fitness workouts, with a 30 second burst of exercise followed by 30 seconds of active rest. Josie has also released a book called ‘The Josie Gibson Diet: If I can do it, so can you!’ which details a ten-step plan by Josie as well as facts on the naughties within your food, such as sugar. You may think that something is good for you, one of your five a day maybe, but it doesn’t mean that it is. Best to do your research when looking to take on a clean diet.
Adam Richman – 600lbs (Man Vs Food)
Having seen his waistline expand to 40 inches following a successful career presenting ‘Man Vs Food’, Adam Richman became to despise his reflection in the mirror and decided to do something about it. His diet drastically changed, from eating the largest, richest portions of food available, to eating small meals of just 150 calories every two hours. His meals and snacks consisted of Greek yoghurt, salmon, almonds and meal-replacement bars, and Adam soon saw 60lbs drop. He also increase his exercise from the occasional 30 minutes on a treadmill to weight training, football practice and walking 10,000 steps on a daily basis.
Whilst these diets worked for these stars, it’s best to find something that’s going to work for you. There are tonnes of diet plans out there, but you can lose weight simply by switching some items of food with others (for example, white potatoes for sweet potatoes, white rice for brown rice or rice noodles, dairy for soya and so on) and ensuring to get some exercise within your diet. You don’t even need a gym membership, you can work out from the comfort of your own home. It’s about finding the right plan that works for you.
