Celebrities That Have Embraced Their Hair Loss
For some it comes with age, for others it’s in their genes; but regardless of which camp they fall into, many just can’t seem to grasp why they’re one of the seemingly unlucky ones. Hair loss is more common than it’s ever been and celebrities are jumping on the bandwagon of embracing their hair loss, whether they have a receding hairline, a thinning crown or are facing up to the thought of losing it all.
Here’s a list of just a few celebrities who are experiencing hair loss and are taking it all within their stride:
Aged just 33, the beloved heir to the throne has been losing his hair for some years now. Wills is yet to go down the route of donning a toupee or using hair dye and he doesn’t appear to be in denial that it’s sneaking away from him. Let’s be honest, he’s possibly going to be the King one day; he has far more important things to think about than his hairline! Besides, it’s not like he’s the only one in the Royal family to have hair struggles.
The Rock (aka Dwayne Johnson)
The Rock has ‘rocked’ a wide variety of hairstyles over the years; a flat top back in the 90’s, wild & bushy as a wrestler, long, plaited hair in The Mummy Returns, and now he’s bald – and it’s safe to say he has never looked better. Seriously, the man is one of very few that actually looks better without hair!
Bruce was once asked about his hair in an interview, to which he replied:
“I’ve seen all those little digs where they try to make you feel less of a man because you’re losing your hair. I’m a man and I will kick anyone’s butt who tries to tell me I’m not a man because my hair is thinning, and I like fooling around with looking different ways. I wear makeup in films. I wear hairpieces in films. I don’t wear either in real life. End of subject.”
There’s wide debate about whether Vin Diesel shaves his head as that’s the look he likes, or whether he is actually losing his hair. But look closely enough and you’ll see that his hair is indeed receding, particularly within the middle of his forehead, so we think we can safely include him in this round-up!
Vin just doesn’t care. Whether you want to comment on his lack of hair or whether you want to comment on him having a ‘dad-bod’ whilst he’s taking a break from filming, if anything, he’ll make a point of showing you how little he cares by joining in and pointing fun at himself.
Similar to The Rock, Vin is a big, muscly guy. Maybe that helps to distract our gaze away from the top of their heads?!
He’s played non-stop bad boys over the years and consistently has short hair within his roles, but his receding hairline is perfect for him, particularly when he has a short beard too and his hair & beard become one, appearing to run smoothly around his head.
Plus, it’s never stopped him pulling some of the hottest female celebrities, including current girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Have you ever seen Billy Zane wear a hat? Obscure hats have become a bit of a trademark for him – not because he’s trying to hide his receding hairline, but because he can now pull off hats of all types without having his fluffy hair sticking out underneath. Grandad hats and trilby’s seem to be his favourites, and we can’t help but agree with his taste.
And then there are those who aren’t quite embracing their hair loss and have turned to (or been rumoured to have turned to) hair transplants; Wayne Rooney, Gordon Ramsay, Jude Law, Calum Best, James Nesbitt and Louis Walsh.
As Drake sings: “Started from the bottom, now we’re here.” Embrace the thinning, embrace the balding, it’s a part of who you are. Just as everyone knew you with a head full of hair, they’ll soon know you with less.
Give it a few years (if not less) and we’ll soon be adding some of the One Direction boys!
