Celeb Couples With A Large Age Gap

As you get older you begin to realise that age is just a number.

Your age, the number on the scales, your clothes size, and even age gaps. When someone enters into a relationship with someone and there is a significant age gap, it’s easy to think “they’re definitely too old/young for them”, but as you get older you begin to realise that age is just a number and it’s all relative.

Why should your age matter if you like someone? Why shouldn’t you date them just because they’re 10, 15, 20+ years older than you? You’re only as old as you feel, and here are some great celebrity examples of where age just didn’t factor into the equation.

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore (16-year age gap)

OK, so they’re not together anymore… Ashton’s gone on to marry, and have a baby with the gorgeous Mila Kunis, but there was a notable age gap with these two. When they first got together Ashton was just 25 and Demi was 41 – the two were married after two years and parted ways after six years of marriage (with the divorce being finalised a further two years later, in 2013).

Ashley Olsen and Bennett Miller (19-year age gap)

It’s been rumoured that the 28-year-old actress, fashion designer and business woman, Ashley Olsen, has been dating 47-year-old director, Bennett Miller, since February this year – although the pair have rarely been photographed together what with the Olsen twins preferring to keep their lives largely out of the way of the cameras. Many might be wondering who Bennett is, as he’s slightly less known that the mini mogul, but Bennett is famous in his own rights having directed Capote, Moneyball and Foxcatcher.

Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (20-year age gap)

Die Hard actor, Statham, has been dating fellow English actress & model, Rosie, for five years now, with the pair announcing their engagement back in January this year. Aged 28 and 48, the 20-year age gap clearly means nothing to these two, with the pair regularly attending events and travelling together, looking more and more loved-up by the day.

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart (22-year age gap)

Ford (73) and Flockhart (51), both well-known actors, met at the Golden Globes back in 2002 and began dating straight away, going on to marry on June 15th 2010. Ford has four children from a previous marriage and the couple adopted a son, Liam, back at the start of their relationship.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard (23-year age gap)

It’s the thing of dreams – can you imagine being married to Jonny Depp? Well, Amber Heard doesn’t need to imagine because she is! Lucky thing. The pair met when they filmed The Rum Diary together back in 2009, released in 2011, and Depp realised he was interested in Heard when filming had finished and he couldn’t stop thinking about her (n’awww). After both subsequently came out of long-term relationships and secretly dated each other for a few months, the pair went public with their relationship in April 2013, Heard was spotted with a large diamond in April 2014 and announced they’d wed on February 4th 2015.

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones (25-year age gap)

The biggest age gap noted here, Douglas and Zeta-Jones have been together for an amazing 15 years (16 years this year), being open and honest that marriage takes constant work, and admitting that they took a 3-month break back in 2013. Zeta-Jones says that her successful marriage is due to not throwing the towel in: “It’s a long road and I think people today are so quick to throw in the towel on marriage. You have to give it your best shot and not give up when the first problem arises, because that won’t be the last problem. There will be many more down the road.”
